Independent candidate Alfred Kwame Asiedu Walker on Monday, November 9, 2020 paid a courtesy call to the Ga Mantse King Tackie Teiko Tsuru (II) and his council members at the Ga Traditional Council in Accra to ask for their blessings ahead of 2020 polls.
Kwame Asiedu Walker assured the chiefs they will be actively involved in the urban planning of their Region when voted into power. According to him, chiefs who are custodians of the land must be allowed to play instrumental role in the decision making process of the urban planning board, taking complete charge of land sales in their respective Regions. He stated that, the Public Works Department (PWD) and the State Construction Company (SCC) will be re-opened to provide employment opportunities for young people in the skill-training sector in every region.
Ga Mantse, King Takyi Teiko Tsuru (II) admonished young people to eschew all forms of violence in this year’s election. He emphasized that, young people should not allow politicians engage them to create chaos especially when their children are not involved in the turmoil.
“We are one people with one Ghana, let’s not ruin the peace that co-exist. We want a peaceful election”. He added
Walker further averred politics should not be about insult, insecurities and violence.
“Ghana has a fresh face and a new idea that is here to create jobs and solve problems with solution based policies,” he ended.
Jacob Osei Yeboah (JOY), who is the running mate for Walker also assured King Tackie Teiko Tsuru (II) the JOY-WALKER team will support the “Ga Girl Child Education Project” which was initiated by the Ga Mantse to help promote girl child education in the various Ga communities with scholarship programs to equip them become prominent to themselves and their society. JOY added that, the project will be regionalized when Kwame Walker is voted into power because his governance believes in the social and economic liberation of young girls and women particularly.
