The light Foundation, an NGO has donated assorted sanitary items to the Anbariya Sunni central mosque among others in Tamale to enable them observe the safety protocols at various places of worship in the community.
The move is to prevent the spread of the coronavirus which has infected thousands of Ghanaians and killed millions of people across the globe.
The items Donated included 3 pieces of Veronica buckets, 300 pieces of face masks and 5 pieces of thermometer guns.
The donation was in fulfilment of request made by some of the leaders in the community to well meaning Ghanaians and philanthropic organisations to support them with sanitary materials at the various mosques to enable them adhere to the safety protocols required for public gartherings in the wake of the opening of mosque and churches in the country.
According to the CEO of the Light Foundation, Sheikh Ali Abubakar Napari, the gesture forms part of the organisation’s role and commandment to moslems to support their brothers particularly at a time when they are preparing for their Islamic festivals and are unable to worship as a result of little challenges facing them which could be addressed if people extended a hand to them.
“These mosque were under lock and key because they needed to have the sanitary materials before they go and worship. We are therefore supporting them with whatever little we have to enable them worship at the mosque without difficulty. A little assistance you provide for fellow human beings God will reward you abundantly.” he noted
Sheikh Napari appealed to Ghanaians especially NGO’s and other benevolent organisations to support the needy and the less privileged in their communities whenever they call on them.
