The opposition NDC has launched a website, www.nppfailedpromises.com, to track the ‘failed promises’ of the incumbent New Patriotic Party (NPP) government.
The website, which is currently under-construction according to the opposition NDC, is to help fact-check the promises of the government.
Meanwhile, the NPP government in February 2020 launched a website, www.delivery.gov.gh, to monitor its manifesto promises to Ghanaians
Vice-President Dr. Bawumia who launched the website then said government had achieved 78 per cent of its 388 manifesto promises.
However launching the “npp failed promises” website, the Member of Parliament (MP) for North Tongu, Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa, said the NPP government made 631 manifesto promises, out of which it had achieved only 86.
In a related development, the NDC says the Akufo-Addo government has abysmally failed in the delivery of its promises on the economy.
According to the party, despite making 45 promises of strengthening the economy and improving the lives of Ghanaians, the NPP has achieved only 12, representing 27% of what it promised.
Former Deputy Education Minister, Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa who led the presentation of the NDC’s tracking of the government’s promises at a press briefing in Accra on Monday said: “On the economy, 45 promises were made. Only 12 have been delivered, so we scored the NPP 27%. 33 [of the promises on the economy] were not delivered.”
