NARH-BITA medical college has held it’s 11th congregation with a call on the government to support private health professionals in the country.
This according to the school will help compliment government efforts of meeting the health needs of Ghanaians as health professionals play important role in the development of any country.
Speaking in an interview with a section of journalists at the 11th graduation ceremony of the school in Tema, the registrar of the school, Dr. Sam Abossey said even though government over the years has supported private health educational Institutions, more could be done especially towards absorbing them into the public health system in order to reduce the high spate of unemployment facing health trainees.
he said ” Government has supported private medical institutions in terms of recognition and some form of job placement but a lot more can be done for private health professionals during their training and after to also compliment the effort of government in addressing health needs of Ghanaians.
He however adviced the students to be entrepreneurial in their fields of endeavour and not to give up in their persuit for success in life.
He indicated that the College which has been in existence since 2008 aims not only to churn out quality graduate but to produce students with strong character formation and Godly principles who will provide patients with the best health care delivery.
“The school is founded on strong Godly principles. We ensure our students are trained to have the right character and attitude so that they can Excell in whatever they do especially as nurses and professionals take good care of patients when they are out of this college. Descipline is also our hallmark.”he emphasised
According to the College registrar, the schools professional programmes makes them one of the best health care Institutions in the country.
When asked what makes the school different from any other Institution, he said the school which started in years ago has churned out quality health care professionals who are providing quality services in both public and private health sector in educational Institutions, hospitals, schools among others.
He emphasised ” We do not only teach them but we are able to give our students the best of practical training and research because we have a hospital here. The students don’t struggle to find places where they will have practical training and research skills, It’s opened to them 24 hrs, in addition to our dedicated and hard-working teachers and management.
About 700 students graduated in various desciplines such as BSc Nursing, BSc Medical and Lab Technology, Diploma in Registered General nursing, Diploma in medical Laboratory Technology among others.
The graduands expressed their appreciation to the school for the training provided them and promised to excell in their fields of endeavour.
