Henry Djaba Memorial Foundation has organised a skills training workshop for 80 women and Persons with disability, in the area of beadsmaking accessories and soap making.
The foundation aimed is to work towards the socio economic transformation of the vulnerable and the disabled as well as the empowerment of women and children in the country.
The Executive Director the organization and former minister of gender and social protection, Mrs. Otiko Afisah Djaba in an exclusive interview with Angel fm Kwadwo Baffour at the training workshop said, the focus and the purpose of the foundation is to support women with challenges and those living with breast cancer and disability to have the opportunity to be training in beadsmaking accessories and soap making to have an opportunity for them selves without being on the streets begging for arms.
According to her, they want to contribute towards the creation of an equal and equitable society which respects the rights and interests of all persons irrespective of gende and social class.
She noted there will be certificates and start up packs for the trainers to start thier own businesses and used this opportunity to called on Ghananians to help those who are in need especially the physically challenged without demanding from the streets.
